It is not a common moment that I get to look around a room/picnic ground/cafe/pub/hyde park where it is raining like crazy and I get to see so many special people I love and whom I grew up with. I am inspired by a God who I feel purposely brings people together. It is so nice to be surrounded by Spanish speakers through Victor and Layla and Martin and Mil and Jo and Jem. If I didn’t feel so loved I would feel left behind but our community is so full of love that it is OK, even though I don’t always get what people are talking about. No matter how small a gift we bring, we all have our place. I am reminded of that through the song “The Little Drummer Boy.” The drummer boy comes to Jesus feeling like he has no gifts to bring but then he remembers he can play and Jesus smiles at him.

You offer great gifts Gem. You inspire me in the way you are so free to be yourself. And you give nice massages. And you have a lovely presence and it’s really good having you around at the moment. It’s making me happy.
It’s nice to be loved and accepted for being yourself. Knowing even a small gift you have to offer is genuinely accepted.
