Loca’s Little Secrets

{November 16, 2007}   a current-er prayer

Our Media,

whose art is manipualtion

hallow be thy game.

Thy cameras come, it will be done

on Nine as it is on Seven.

Give us this day our daily sensation,

and feed us our fears

as we feed the fears of others.

Lead us on with misinformation

and deliver us from thinking.

For thine is the kingmaker

with the power of the story

forever and ever,

amen.

{November 12, 2007}   Lovely days and lovely people

The last couple of days I have felt a bit sick but they have been good days anyway. I walked for warming yesterday or should I say against warming and for the planet. I walked down my stairs and out my door and joined in the parade. Living inner city has advantages. Weilin came to my church last night, which was nice, and then we ate dumplings. We hung out again today, doing some tourist Melbourne stuff and also we went to the Vegie Bar. Jo French knows how good the Vegie Bar is because I went there with her too. I woke up this morning and read Leunig prayers in bed. Then I decided to give to my friend Emma, who is going overseas, a Leunig prayer and picture (I copied your idea Mil and she loved it). It was about giving praise for explorers. I want to share all of my Leunig favourites with you readers right now but I guess I will have to pick one. Ok, I pick this one for all you special people.

We give thanks for our friends.

Our dear friends.

We anger each other.

We fail each other.

We share this sad earth, this tender life, this precious time.

Such richness. Such wildness.

Together we are blown about.

Together we are blown along.

All this delight.

All this suffering.

All this forgiving life.

We hold it together.

Amen.

{November 8, 2007}   photos

All you people who upload photos I think you are very clever. I am trying to do it and they won’t do what I want them to do.

{November 2, 2007}   Strange things happen

Something I find really funny and strange in this world is synchronicity and coincidence. Did anyone else notice that yesterday both Tom and David dropped their mobile phones in a glass of water? Sorry chaps, I know it is probably a bit annoying it is just I am rather amused it happened on the same day.
