I am sure a lot of people watched the Chaser tonight, given it was the night Bin Laden arrived at APEC. For those that missed it I will tell you about a smaller skit. There was a rather funny performance based around the totally unjust way that China treats its citizens. China executes more of their people than any other country and then after the execution they send a bill to the families for the cost of the bullets. Can you believe that? What the Chaser decided to do to draw attention to this situation is - they went to the embassy here in Australia and told the workers there that they were going to execute the president of China (I don’t know his name) and in keeping with tradition could they please have a cheque for the cost of the bullets. The workers were like ”is this a joke.” I felt like screaming I wish it was a joke but it actually is pretty serious.
