Loca’s Little Secrets

{August 9, 2007}   Community Arts

I feel really moved. One of the women from the writing group here at Urban Seed gave me some her old poetry. Through her poetry she has shared with me some of her journey from a dark place to a place of hope. I want to write it so I do not forget.

A Stanza from “Maintaining Abuse”

I thought and I thougth and I thought of the dole

Of sitting on the street before and empty bowl

I felt what it meas to be down ans destitute

and why so many women become prostitutes.

From “Dear God”

Body language,  feeling words, let me integrate all

And speak to show Your light which inside me glows

With love form your creation let me inspire confidence

Beautiful poetry huh? And for the visual arts. Missing Monday Club, I went to community art group today. It is at a place on the outskirts of Melbourne city. This group is not Urabn Seed. It is run by another group. (When I was at the UNOH conference I was invited along by some people). I had a nice time painting and connecting with what some other Melbourne christian groups are doing. They were really fun people.
